Abstract
Plagiarism remains a serious academic and research-integrity concern for students, researchers, and health professionals alike. This brief resource addresses common misconceptions about plagiarism, including its prevalence, who commits it, the limits of detection software, and text recycling. It also examines how generative AI has changed questions of authorship, attribution, and detection, and offers evidence-based clarifications drawn from publication-ethics guidance, federal research-misconduct regulations, and educational policy.
