The Innovations in Health Sciences Education Journal (IHSEJ) is a free online, open-access, peer-reviewed journal published by the Interprofessional Academy of Educators at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. IHSEJ publishes emerging research and pilot studies in the field of medical and health professions education. Our purpose is to provide a forum for pilot studies and developing work, particularly from graduate students and early-career scholars, in order to make it accessible to potential funders and other researchers who might be interested in collaborating on larger-scale studies that can contribute to best practices in health professions education.

Translational science bridges a gap between knowledge and practice. There is a need for occupational scientists and therapists to translate knowledge into practice to establish high-value occupation-based intervention. The purpose of this open-access journal is to challenge assumptions, inspire conversation, and facilitate communication by publishing material relevant to practice, education, research, and policy to advance health and well-being.
