Aims & Scope
- To publish high-quality, peer-reviewed articles focusing on clinical outcomes, patient safety/quality improvement, basic science, education, health policy/advocacy, healthcare business practices, global health, wellness, and other topics relevant to graduate medical education.
- To promote scholarly activity in the graduate medical education community by providing visibility and credibility to work conducted by residents and fellows.
- To encourage methodologically rigorous research and reporting, leading to evidence-based recommendations for improving all aspects of graduate medical education.
Manuscript Categories: Original Research, Reviews (Narrative Review, Systematic and Meta-Analysis), Case Reports, Brief Reports, Perspectives/Commentaries, Letters to the Editor, and Creative Works.
Open Access and Licensing
- GMERJ conforms to the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) declaration in that all content is freely available to individuals and institutions without an embargo period. Users may "read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of the articles."
- Printed copies of the Journal are reserved for internal use within the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). Requests for print copies from outside UNMC may be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to availability.
- Articles are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial-No Derivatives 4.0 International License.

Copyright and Permissions
Authors retain the copyright and full publishing rights without restrictions and can deposit their articles in a repository of their choice without embargo.
