Creative Work Essay
In the years that I’ve worked at UNMC, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing the continued – and continuously accelerating – growth of the campus. I was particularly impressed by the Dr. Edwin G. & Dorothy Balbach Davis Global Center, which opened in 2020. Not only is it an amazingly innovative venue for health care education, but it’s also a beautiful space that evokes a genuine sense of wonder. It’s a campus jewel in terms of both form and function.
One evening last winter, I walked past the Davis Global Center when it was fully lit. Snow was just beginning to fall, and as I watched the building glow in the gathering dusk, the moment felt magical and inspiring. I wished I could preserve it to share with my friends and colleagues. It is truly a privilege to be a part of UNMC and to have the opportunity to make even a small contribution to our mission.
