Policies
- Innovations in Health Sciences Education Journal (IHSEJ) is a publication of the Interprofessional Academy of Educators (IAE) at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC).
- Editors will determine the suitability of submissions for IHSEJ. If the manuscript passes editorial review, it will advance to single-blind peer review.
- IHSEJ will publish the following types of manuscripts: Original Reports, Case Reports, Letters to the Editor, and Creative Works. Detailed guidelines for each manuscript type are available in the Manuscript Preparation Guidelines section.
- IHSEJ follows the ethical principles concerning evaluating, improving, and publishing manuscripts in medical journals and the relationships between editors, authors, peer reviewers, and the media put forth by the following organizations:
- IHSEJ conforms to the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) funding model in that all content is freely available to individuals and institutions without an embargo period. Users may "read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of the articles."
- There are no submission or publication charges associated with placing your work in IHSEJ.

However, IHSEJ encourages the submission of work based on class projects, theses, and dissertations, conference posters or presentations, and other dissemination formats that are not peer-reviewed journal publications.
